October 10 Set to Reveal Zubeen Garg Poison Details (X)
Zubeen Garg's death case: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Saturday that the state government will receive the examination report of singer Zubeen Garg's viscera (stool) sample from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in New Delhi on October 10. The report will clarify whether poison was used in Zubeen's death.
CM Sarma stated that the investigation has been expedited under the supervision of a judicial committee. The viscera report will provide accurate information about the cause of death. He also said that Shekhar Jyoti is one of the accused in the case and may be trying to shield himself by blaming others.
Zubeen Garg's bandmate, Shekhar Jyoti Goswami, has claimed that Zubeen's manager, Siddharth Sharma, and festival organizer Shyamkanu Mahanta poisoned him in Singapore, leading to his death. According to police documents, this allegation is listed in the grounds for arrest.
In this case, the festival organizer, Zubeen's manager, and two band members – Shekhar Jyoti Goswami and Amritprabha Mahanta – have been arrested and sent to 14-day police remand. Zubeen died under mysterious circumstances while swimming in the sea in Singapore.
The SIT recorded the statements of Zubeen's wife, Garima Saikia Garg, and sister, Palmi Borthakur. Garima returned the postmortem report to the police, stating that it was her personal document, and that making it public would be the investigators' decision.
CM Sarma had previously stated that making the postmortem report public was up to Garima.
